Support the Patriots- Let’s support our home team as they prepare for the big game on Sunday. Friday, January 18th will be Patriot’s Day/Red, White & Blue. Students may wear Patriots clothing or red, white and blue. Please don’t feel any pressure to purchase authentic Patriots attire. There is no cost associated with this spirit day.

 

N. Andover Booster News- If you don’t live in N. Andover, your child may still be eligible to play on town booster teams. If you need a letter from the school stating your child is currently enrolled, please send a note into the office.

 

Play Practice- Students in grades 6-8 have play practice on Thursday until 5p.m.

 

Uniform Exchange- Need slightly used uniforms? Have some uniforms to trade in? Come to the Uniform Exchange on January 15th from 11a.m.-3p.m. or January 16th from 8:30-11:30a.m.

 

End of the Term- Term II will close on January 16th and Report Cards will be distributed to students in grades 1-8 on January 25th.

 

Catholic Schools Week- Mark your calendars for January 28-February 1 for Catholic Schools Week. The committee is almost done finalizing this fun-filled week so be on the lookout for details.

 

Protecting God’s Children- There will be a Protecting God's Children class on Monday, January 21, 7-9pm in the Parish Hall.  Call Laurie O’Connor at 978-686-4050 to register.

 

Let’s Go Bowling- On Tuesday, Jan. 29th, come and bowl with us! We’re celebrating Catholic Schools Week so we planned a fun activity that is suitable for all grades. Information was mailed home last week in backpacks. Don’t delay…we can only accommodate 200 bowlers!

 

Ski Club Reminders- All students are required to wear helmets while skiing. If you don’t own one, you can rent one weekly for $6.00/week. Get your Waterville Valley forms into Mr. D. this week. Due to the snow day yesterday, we will extend the Ski Club season by one week.

 

No School Jan. 21- There is no school next Monday, Jan. 21st due to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. Extended Day will be closed.

 

February Vacation Week- Need a fun and safe place to send your child to during February vacation? Mrs. Hughes, our Extended Day Care Director, has planned a week of fun activities. The program will run Mon.-Fri. from 9a.m.-3p.m. and the cost is $180/student. Sign ups are happening through January 18th.

 

Thank You- We’d like to thank all of the families who sent Christmas cards and photos to Sister Mary Manning over the holidays. Her walls were covered with friendly, familiar faces! You certainly helped to brighten this wonderful woman’s holiday!

Middle School Art Club Meeting - will be held directly after school this Tuesday until 4:30 in the Art Room

 

Art Room Volunteers - A memo was sent home last Friday regarding the second half of the year. 3rd grade will be attending art on Wednesday mornings and 4th grade on Tuesday afternoons during terms 3 & 4. All other classes will remain the same. If you are no longer available or did not receive this memo, please contact me at your earliest convenience.  If I do not hear from you by this Wednesday, January 16, I will include you on the new schedule.  Thanks so much for your support!    Mrs. McArdle

Grade 4 & 5 Movie Matinee - We will be presenting the movie Underdog for grades 4 and 5 in the school gym at 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23 after early dismissal. Pizza will be available and popcorn will be served. Gentlemen’s Choice Dance - Friday, January 25 in the school gym from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. This should be a great night of fun, please come join us! The tickets will be available to purchase from Mrs. Donahue at the front desk or via backpack to Eresia Kamieneski c/o Scotty Kamieneski Grade 1A.  Please make all checks payable to St. Michael School.

 

PTO meeting - Our next meeting is Tuesday, February 5, in the Main Street Atrium at 9:15 a.m. Coffee and pastries will be served. We would love to see you there! Children are welcome!

 

Scouts Notes  ¯

Second Grade Brownie Troop #298 -  Our next meeting is Monday, January 21st (Martin Luther King Day) at Dr. Devlin’s Family Dental Care, 166 Sutton Street, North Andover. We will meet at the office at 10 a.m. and will earn the Healthy Habits Try-It.  Please print out a permission slip at www.ssgsc.org and send it in to Mrs. Guggenberger or bring it with you to the meeting. Please have a (healthy!) snack before the meeting and wear your brownie sash. See you then!

 

Kindergarten Daisy Troop #6415 -  Our next meeting is Friday, January 25th beginning at 3:30. We will meet at Methuen Aikido where Mr. John Dore Sensei will help us earn the “Courageous and Strong” Daisy petal.  Parents are to arrange transportation.  Remember to dress comfortably, wear your Daisy smock, and have a snack before the meeting.  Watch the backpacks for more information and for permission form information.  See you there!

  

Community Notes ¯

North Andover Booster Club Little League -  Online registration is now open for the 2008 baseball season at www.nayouthbaseball.org.  Players between the ages of 5 and 16 as of April 30, 2008 are eligible. Our new web site offers fast, convenient, and secure registration for both new and returning players. Walk-in registrations will be held on Wednesday January 16th and Thursday January 24th from 6:30 - 8:30pm at the Atkinson school cafeteria.

Hot lunch for the week of January 14 - 18

Monday: Macaroni & Cheese, fresh carrots, pears

Tuesday: Bacon pizza or chicken Caesar salad with a cheddar/bacon potato, Jell-O

Wednesday: Pasta/sauce, rolls, pudding

Thursday: Meatball sub, coleslaw, graham crackers

Friday: Pizza, pasta salad, chocolate cream pie
