Mrs. Parker - Middle School Math (Room 8B)
My name is Mary Parker and I am the math teacher for the 6th, 7th and 8th grade students at St. Michael School as well as the homeroom teacher for the students in 8B. I joined the St. Michael School team in 2006 and have enjoyed getting to know all of the wonderful people in the school and parish community. I am a strong supporter of Catholic education. I am also a product of Catholic education. My parents made the choice to send my siblings and me to Catholic schools throughout our educational careers.
Ever since I was young I knew that I loved math. As a result, I received my BA in Math with a concentration in elementary education from Regis College. I also went on to receive my M.Ed. from Northeastern University. I have worked with middle school students in math since 1999.
Knowing that not all of my students share my love of the subject, I have made it my goal to help my students feel more comfortable with the subject and appreciate its applications in their daily lives. I try to use a variety of strategies (sometimes even songs or dances) to help students master mathematical concepts.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, John and our two children, Sarah and Jack.
