Mrs. McCarthy - Kindergarten
Welcome to Saint Michael School!
I have three adult children. Two daughters, Kerry Ann and Deanna and one son, Kieran Patrick. I have finally been blessed with one grandson, who answers to the name T.J.. T. J. lives in Hudson, NH and on October 18th will celebrate his third birthday.
Ever since first grade I have always wanted to be a teacher. The grade I love the most is Kindergarten. I have been teaching for more than thirty-three years. In the beginning I first taught reading to a group of seventh and eighth graders. I later helped develop a pre-kindergarten class at my former school, Sacred Heart in Lowell. After receiving my masters in Education in 1995, I was moved up to teach a second group of Kindergarteners. I taught kindergarten until 2003. In 2003, due to our principal leaving, I stepped up to the plate and became the principal at Sacred Heart. It was then that I was informed that at the end of the year my school would close. So, I spent my first year taking administrative courses, running a school, and closing a school all at the same time.
It was at this time that I decided that I wanted to teach once again. So in the Spring of 2004 I joined the Saint Michael School family. I was hired to teach an awesome group of boys and girls in Kindergarten.
My goal for all my students, that I consider my children, is to develop a love for learning and school. To remember to always reach for the stars and never to give up. To remember to always ask questions. When my boys and girls leave me I want them to have developed and built a strong and sturdy foundation for their future years that are ahead of them.
Go in Peace,
Love Mrs. Carol McCarthy
