Miss Kropiwnicki - Nursery Program
krupinwinki email your teacher

I would like to welcome you and introduce myself. My name is Carrie Kropiwnicki and this is my first year at Saint Michael School. I am very excited to be part of this wonderful staff and school community!

I just received my Masters degree in Early Childhood Education from Salem State University. I also hold a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Salem State College. I am certified in Massachusetts to teach Pre-K-Grade 2 and have been working in the field of education for eight years.

I started babysitting when I was 10 years old and that is where my love for children grew. I have gained a lot of knowledge over the years having worked with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, pre-kindergarteners, kindergarteners and first graders. I have experience working with special needs children and ELL learners as well. I absolutely adore working with young children and laying the foundation for school success and life-long learning.

For the last three years I have taught full day pre-k and kindergarten at Meritor Academy. I was responsible for designing and implementing an age appropriate curriculum, which met the standards, engaged the children, and fostered a love of learning. I integrated thematic units across all disciplines and offered learning with a hands-on, exploratory approach while leaving time for play and exploration to develop oral language, self confidence, problem solving, and self regulation skills. There was a strong focus on community while carrying out activities that would help children reach their individual goals in all areas of development. The classroom was an active place where children learned and reflected through experiences. I enjoyed bringing in different aspects of the outdoors into the classroom and sharing my passion for nature with the children. It gave children opportunities to interact and get to know the world around them. I partnered with families, community members, and staff to give children the best possible experience in their early years of school.

Switching gears, I believe that a good parent-teacher relationship is essential for maximum school success. Throughout the year I will communicate with you through notes, telephone calls, emails, and parent teacher conferences. I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at any time. I am looking forward to a wonderful school year with you and your child. Our days and weeks will be filled with many wonderful experiences and opportunities to learn and grow. I am thrilled you will be part of our school family this year!

With appreciation,
Carrie Kropiwnicki
