Catholic education has been my life experience. I am proud to say that I am a product of Catholic schooling from elementary through my college days and at St. Michael’s School God continues to gift me with the opportunity to pass on his love of others. My teaching career at St. Michael’s began in the 4th grade. After two years the opportunity to teach the middle school students was a dream that came true for me. In those days the homeroom teacher was responsible for teaching more than one subject. As the years went by we changed to a one subject format and so, after 21 years at St. Michael School, I’m still living my dream and teaching the foundational subject of Catholic education, the Catholic Religion. Here we learn that everything we have is God’s gift to us simply because he loves us. When we hear that message and see it in action on a daily basis we can go forward trying our best without fear of failure or disappointment because we know that through it all God is always with us, loving us. It is a powerful message for middle school students who question their place in the world.

I have truly loved teaching all of the disciplines over the years but passing on the truths of my Catholic faith has brought me tremendous satisfaction. My proudest moments come while preparing my students for and being a part of the wonderful Catholic traditions that we celebrate as a school community: First Friday Masses, Grandparents’ Prayer Service, May Crowning, Graduation Mass, and daily prayer opportunities that define us as a faith-filled community.  I encourage students to dream big dreams and have faith that God will lead them to where he needs them to be. I am so blessed because he led me to St. Michael School.
