Parent Guides
We have many students with food allergies. Due to the stickiness of peanut butter, we strive to be a peanut butter free school. There are also new butters which have become available- soy and almond. Although not peanut butter, they can be just as dangerous for some students and are also difficult to clean up.
In addition, we ask that you please think about these products when preparing food for your child at school. If your son or daughter must eat these products while in school, please teach them to keep their food to themselves and provide them with a clean-wipe not hand-sanitizer for clean-up after eating. (Hand-sanitizers do not rid the skin of the proteins which cause the food allergy; they only rid germs.) If possible, they should also rinse their mouth with water to avoid cross-contamination in the classroom onto desks, pens, pencils, etc.
We thank you in advance for your kindness and compassion to our students as they learn to keep themselves safe.
