Grammar Homework Policy My homework policy is in addition to the homework policy found in the Parent/ Teacher Handbook and the Middle School Philosophy handout.
Homework · Students will receive a check or a zero for homework. · A student will receive a check when his or her homework is turned in on time and done to the best of his/her ability. · A student will receive a zero if the homework is not in class on the day it is due or not done to the best of that student’s ability. In either of these two cases, students are expected to turn the late assignment in the very next day. If the assignment is not turned in the next day, the student will again earn a zero in homework. The student will continue to earn a zero each day until that assignment is passed in, even if the student has the homework assignments that are scheduled to be due on these days done and in class on time. · Homework can be collected at any time and graded as a quiz. · Unannounced quizzes may be given to check that students are reading and regularly reviewing the notes they take in class and at home. · At the end of each term, the student’s homework grade is averaged in as a test grade.
