Annual Fund
What is the Annual Fund?
The Annual Fund is a yearly appeal to help fund specific projects and/or purchases not covered in our annual budget. These projects and purchases always yield direct services or materials for the students currently enrolled in the school. Gifts are solicited from all constituencies (parents, alumni/ae, parents of alums, grandparents, faculty, staff and friends.)
Why have an Annual Fund?
St. Michael School endeavors to maintain an affordable tuition, therefore enabling families from a wide range of backgrounds to take advantage of the educational opportunities that the school offers. In addition, the Annual Fund allows others in the St. Michael School family besides parents to show their support for the school in a tangible way.
How much should my gift to the Annual Fund be?
The amount that anyone gives is a personal decision. As is the case with any philanthropy, giving from the heart, from a sense of commitment, is important. We urge all donors to be as generous as they can be and to realize that all gifts are appreciated.
Why is full participation in the Annual Fund important?
Full participation in the Annual Fund by parents, alumni/ae, grandparents, faculty and staff is an indication of solidarity within the St. Michael School community. It demonstrates to foundations, corporations and friends of the school that those most closely connected to the school are committed to the school’s present and future well-being. Therefore, every gift, whatever the size of the gift is an important statement of support.
Are gifts to the Annual Fund tax deductible?
Contributions to the school are fully tax deductible for the tax year in which the contribution is made. Many businesses and corporations, in order to support and encourage gift giving by their employees, have a program of matching gifts. Check with your human resources office to see if your employer will match your gift to St. Michael School.
