About Admissions

How do I register my child for Nursery or Pre-Kindergarten? Complete a registration form and drop off at the school. Call the school for important registration dates. We’d also love to give you a personal tour! If you are registering your child for the first time, don’t forget to bring a copy of your child’s baptism and birth certificate as well as a Mass. Health Form (forms available in the office). There is a one time, non-refundable $200 registration fee for new families registering at St. Michael School. This fee is only required when a seat has been made available for your child.

Is there a priority for registration? The order of registration is as follows:

  1. Families of Saint Michael School will participate in an open registration. This registration will be held in December and is for our Nursery, Pre-Kindergarten and/or Kindergarten program. Tuition and fees must be current.

  2. Families who have been registered for at least six (6) months and participate in the Offertory Awareness Program at Saint Michael Parish who are interested in Nursery and Pre-Kindergarten will participate in a lottery (during December/January). Names will be drawn from submitted application forms received prior to registration for any available seats. If no seats are available, a waiting list will be established.

  3. All other families of children entering Nursery and Pre-Kindergarten will participate in a lottery (during December/January). Names will be drawn from submitted and complete application forms received prior to registration for any available seats. If no seats are available, a waiting list will be established.

  4. Families of children interested in Kindergarten through Grade 8 may register at any time during the year. If no seats are available, names will be added to the waiting list.

What happens the following year? Please be aware that once your child is enrolled in St. Michael School, there is a seat for him/her for the following year in the next grade.

What if we are transferring from another school? Send in a completed registration form and call for availability of seats in that grade. Please be aware that entrance into St. Michael School is based on good academic and conduct standings. This includes teacher recommendations and St. Michael School Academic Testing.

What is the waiting list? The waiting list is a management tool that allows us to store names and phone numbers of interested students, while eliminating the need for re-registration for students interested in Nursery through grade 8.

What are the ages and requirements for Nursery-Kindergarten? Nursery children must be three years old by September 1 and fully toilet trained. The use of diapers or pull-ups in not allowed. Pre-Kindergarten children must be four years old by September 1. Kindergarten children must be five years old by September 1. All prospective kindergarten students must complete a Kindergarten screening at St. Michael School.

If you have any questions or concerns, never hesitate to call the school office at 978-686-1862.

Registration policy is subject to change without notice.
