Welcome Middle School Students
I am the Middle School Spanish teacher this year. My name is Mr. Ciambella. For 36 years, I taught in the city of Lawrence, Massachusetts. My first 16 years were spent teaching in 3 different junior high schools. My last 20 years were spent teaching at Lawrence High School. I taught introductory and intermediate Spanish as well as social studies to grade 7 and grade 8 at the junior high school. For the last 11 years, I have also worked as a tutor in the Salem State Upward Bound Program and tutored high school students in social studies and Spanish.
In addition to using the textbook, we will concentrate on learning the mechanics and fundamental rules of the Spanish language. Special emphasis will be placed on grammatical structure and the conjugation of verbs. We will also concentrate on establishing an extensive Spanish vocabulary. Mastering the rules of the Spanish language and establishing a good vocabulary will allow you to achieve great success when you study Spanish in high school.
I will be available for extra help on Monday mornings as well as some afternoons. I encourage you to see me whenever you have any questions or have difficulty understanding any of the lesson. I am sure that you will have a very enjoyable and informative year and will be surprised how much Spanish you will learn.
